Life caught up to me quite a bit in 2017. I took the least number of photos this year than any other year since I started shooting professionally, with the vast majority of the photos revolving around friends and family. A couple weeks ago, I went to visit my best friend Sidnee down in Las Vegas. She had a great idea to go check out The Valley of Fire, just about an hour north of the city. It was a race to take photos before the rain and crowds, but this year’s cherry blossom photos at The Quad at the University of Washington turned out great. We arrived about half an hour before sunrise and early hour resulted in a much smaller number of other photographers compared to previous years.
