Shooting an “old school” car was a nice change of pace! Haila’s Starlet is my latest feature on NWMotiv, and given the old school car, I decided to go with an old school style of processing for the photos. The final round of the Formula DRIFT 2012 season took place as usual at “The House of Drift” in Irwindale, California. It was an awesome event and I got to meet a bunch of people that I’ve been meaning to meet face-to-face for quite some time. 3 1/2 weeks ago was my 6th annual visit to Formula DRIFT Seattle, covering it once again for NWMotiv. It was probably my favorite Formula DRIFT in the past 6 years, since I knew more people, the weather was perfect most of the time, and I feel like I took some of my best photos. There are very few cars that seem to universally appeal to the masses, and I’m fortunate enough that I was able to photograph one of them for NWMotiv last month. I was also fortunate to have a rented D800 to play with for the shoot as well, which impressed me in just about every way possible.
