Houglum-Alcantara Wedding

My cousin Liezl got married to her long-time boyfriend and I was able to make the wedding on New Year’s Eve, despite the fact that I was originally supposed to be out of town! I wasn’t the hired photographer for this wedding, so I was able to do a little experimentation with lens choices and post-processing. Formula D Seattle 2010

Formula D is one of the events I’ve always looked forward to as a photographer every year. I’ve been photographing Formula D since its inaugural event in the Pacific Northwest back in 2006, and it definitely seems to get better and better each year. There was absolutely zero rain this year and while it was definitely hot, it wasn’t quite as hot as the mid-90s/low-100s track side for 2006 and 2007. Independence Day 2010

Just like last year, I spent Independence Day atop Eugene’s apartment building in the U-District of Seattle to watch the fireworks over Lake Union. The weather wasn’t quite as nice as last year’s, but the cloud cover helped reflect some of the light down, making the whole show seem a bit brighter. Allas-Main Wedding

Locals 2 Legends Charity Event

Last Saturday the 24th, I donated my photography services to help my good friend, Berto Mendoza with a charity event.  Entitled “Locals 2 Legends,” the event raised money to aid rural victims of last month’s earthquake in Chile, which happens to be Berto’s home country.  The event was held at Woodshed Studios in Seattle and helped raise about $3000 to help those in need in Chile.  Along with simply being a good party, the event featured live music from Pachuco […]
