When my good friend Ashton asked me to take some new headshots for her, it was a great opportunity to rent and test out the Nikon 105mm f/1.4G. I had rented and tested out the Sigma 135mm f/1.8 a few months ago, and while the lens is really superb, it didn’t really quite have that “wow” factor for me. Life caught up to me quite a bit in 2017. I took the least number of photos this year than any other year since I started shooting professionally, with the vast majority of the photos revolving around friends and family.
