2014 Year in Review

What a year, 2014 was! I may not have taken as many photos as I had in previous years, but I’d say the quality is up there amongst the best in recent memory. Independence Day 2012

My yearly ritual to capture the fireworks over Gasworks Park was a bit different this year, since our good friend Eugene had moved out of state and thus we couldn’t use his roof. Instead, we braved the parking and traffic to secure a spot on the shores of Lake Union as we had a few years ago. Independence Day 2010

Just like last year, I spent Independence Day atop Eugene’s apartment building in the U-District of Seattle to watch the fireworks over Lake Union. The weather wasn’t quite as nice as last year’s, but the cloud cover helped reflect some of the light down, making the whole show seem a bit brighter. Independence Day 2009

The first test for my new D300 and Velbon tripod legs was the Independence Day fireworks over Lake Union.
