2014 Year in Review

JULY

I was back in the commercial saddle in July, this time shooting the new Lexus NX for Lexus USA. It ended up being one of the favorite shoots I’ve ever done, and I’m quite happy with how each of the photos turned out. July was also the annual return of Formula DRIFT to the Seattle area, and once again I feel like I took some of the best drifting photos I’ve ever taken.

AUGUST

I had family in town for August, and it also marked the arrival of my Nikon D810. The D810 truly shined in our Kings photoshoot for NWMotiv that I shot with Mackey and the rest of the NWMotiv photo crew. I also ended up shooting Alan and Krystal’s engagement photos, which was a good precursor to what was to come in September.

SEPTEMBER

The big event of September was Dennis and Monica’s wedding, which put the D810 and Sigma 35mm f/1.4 to the test. It ended up being a gorgeous wedding with absolutely perfect weather, along with some of my best wedding photos to date. It’s weddings like this that make me love doing wedding photography.

OCTOBER / NOVEMBER

The first autumn months ended up being pretty slow for photo work, so I just got some portrait practice by taking photos of my father and my BFF Sidnee. If anything, both sets reminded me how much I love natural light.

DECEMBER

We now arrive in December, which includes our annual NWMotiv Toy Drive, this time complete with a time machine. Later that day, I picked up “Ella,” my new Audi S3, which will be a great subject to practice with moving forward.

Thank you to everyone that’s been a part of my photography this year. Special thanks go to Wence Estrada, Sidnee Schaefer, John Chalverus, and Vinnie Nguyen for their help and assistance. Happy Holidays to everyone and let’s hope 2015 is yet another successful year for everyone!
